Composer, sound artist, singer, songwriter Cold Ghost has crafted 13 songs, richly textured and all recorded, mixed and mastered in his Gold Coast studio.

Cold Ghost is multi-instrumentalist Fletcher Babb, recently nominated for Musician of the Year in the 2021 Gold Coast Music Awards.

“It’s a rare moment when an artist feels contentment because we’re always striving to tweak and perfect but I can honestly say I have a great sense of satisfaction putting this album out into the world.”

“I love how rich this album sounds sonically, given that the recording environment was stripped right back, even the drums never had more than a two-mic setup.”

“With a home studio, I was able to hone my recording techniques and then labour, in a good way, over the mixes - it’s amazing sometimes how long you can work on a single moment in a song and yet the rest of it came together more easily.”

“All songs are written in my fav drop C, “Madagascan” tuning. I’ve always been inspired by Bahamian guitarist, Joseph Spence who used to play his hymns like this. I dropped the guitar even further into Bb for a couple of songs. Feel free to figure out which ones.”

“Everything was recorded, mixed and mastered in my little extremely modest studio. It was a test to see what I could achieve with the adequate yet limited equipment I own.”

Cold Ghost is the moniker for Gold Coast song-writer and musician Fletcher Babb.

2020's Love on the Beach is a triptych of love songs inspired by the scenario of Nevil Shute's apocalyptic novel 'On the Beach'.

The 2018 album Bachelor Tapes a mix of alt-folk, rock and psychedelia and was up for best release at the Gold Coast Music Awards.
